Cape Cod sunset at low tide

Your business has a lot to say. Let's get it out there.

Strategic communication and content for small businesses. From websites and customer emails to campaigns and content plans, I help you decide what to say, how to say it, and how to keep it going.

How I help you

Your website

Your business has evolved. Your website hasn't.

Whether you need a new site, a refresh, or just better words, I can help with the strategy, structure, messaging, and copy so your website sounds like you and makes it easy for customers to take the next step.

Customer emails

You know you should stay in touch. It just never quite happens.

Newsletters, seasonal reminders, promotions, follow-ups, and announcements. I can help you figure out what to send, write it, and create a rhythm you can actually keep up with.

Business content

Sometimes you just need a better way to explain what you do.

Case studies, service descriptions, sales materials, FAQs, presentations, outreach copy, and other content that helps customers and partners understand your business and why they should choose you.

Campaigns & special projects

Something exciting is coming! Let's make sure people know about it.

Whether it's a new service, a seasonal push, an event, a launch, or a new location, I'll help you figure out the message and create the content you need to get it out into the world.

Content plans & systems

Make it easier to keep going after I'm gone.

I'll help you figure out what you actually need to create, build a realistic rhythm, and set up templates, tools, and AI-assisted workflows so you're not starting from scratch every time.

Not sure where you fit?

Tell me what's been sitting on your list, what isn't working, or what you wish you were doing better. We'll figure out where to start together.

How we can work together

Some businesses have a specific project in mind. Others know they need help but aren't sure where to start. And some just want an experienced person they can call on when something comes up. We'll start with what you need.

Proof

What a Fresh Look can uncover

A medspa owner asked me to look at her business the way a new customer would. I reviewed 29 touchpoints across her website, booking, email, and social: 7 were working well, 8 needed attention, and 14 were missing entirely. Here are three of them.

01

The booking confirmation was written by the software company.

Warm, careful practitioner. Confirmation email that read like a receipt from a parking garage. It was the first thing every new customer received from her, and it sounded nothing like the person they'd just decided to trust.

02

Nothing went out after the appointment.

No check-in, no aftercare reminder, no invitation to come back. The relationship effectively ended when the customer walked out the door — not by choice, just by default.

03

Her specials only lived on Instagram.

New offers went out to her followers, but never to her actual customer list. The people most likely to book, the ones who'd already visited, weren't hearing from her at all.

The good news

Her actual customer experience — the visit itself — was excellent. The gaps were everywhere around it: the systems, the follow-up, how easily a customer could find and choose her. That's the fixable part, and it's usually the fastest to turn around.

Wondering what I might spot in your business?

Let's Talk

Hi, I'm Tirrill.

Cape Cod born and raised. Ocean lover. Mama to two boys. Taurus. And passionate about helping the business owners doing all of it themselves. I've spent 20+ years in corporate communications, including 8+ years at The Walt Disney Company (sorry, I can't get you free tickets anymore!). That work taught me how much the words matter. What you say, how you say it, and how all of those little details come together to shape the way people see your business. Somewhere along the way, I realized I wanted to take everything I'd learned and use it to help the businesses I love supporting — small, local, and owner-led. So I started Afterglow. Now, I'm building a life and business that feels more like me, and I get to work with small business owners who have done the same. I love learning how their businesses came to be, hearing what they're trying to build, and finding the places where I can make things a little easier.
